Kathy Daveney and Trudy Bradburne recall an adventure with four of their school friends, setting forth with gusto into Queensbury Tunnel but emerging - bedraggled and terrified - two hours later. Sanctuary was found in a nearby house until the police, their parents and a newspaper reporter arrived.
