The Tunnel Past

The cover of the Queensbury Lines' Parliamentary plans. Taken during the tunnel's construction, this is the view towards the southern entrance with a temporary bridge spanning Strines cutting. The view looking south from the portal as the cutting curves into the distance. A classic view of Queensbury triangle, with the colliery tramway navigating its way under it. A gang of platelayers fettle the track near the tunnel's northern entrance. In recent times a rockfall partly blocked the entrance at the south end. Flooding has long since affected Strines cutting.
